“We are devastated to post, but Baby Girl passed away this morning. The family is going to the vet now. At this point we don’t know specifically the complications that happened. Thank you again to everyone for your support, donations and kind words. The family is upset beyond words and this girl will be dearly missed. RIP Baby Girl.”

We cannot continue to allow cops to hurt innocent animals and put the lives of innocent people in danger. We must speak up regarding this clear abuse of power by police officers who are supposed to serve and protect, not terrorize and needlessly kill the innocent!

Staten Island Police Officers shot and almost fatally wounded an innocent pit bull namedBaby Girl on Saturday, April 6th in Schmul Park, Travis, Staten Island.

Two other dogs (not Baby Girl) were involved in a scuffle in the park. In the midst of the owner attempting to break up the fight she got bit. The dogs DID NOT “attack” and turn on their owner.   Baby Girl was NOT involved, she was running AWAY from the fight when cops fired 3 rounds into her. Baby Girl has NEVER had any issues with either people or animals. In fact, her best friend is a bunny rabbit.

If the shooting of Baby Girl by police wasn’t heinous enough “they hid her in an ESU truck and lied about her whereabouts. The family discovered where she was hidden, and took her immediately to get help. The help she never should have needed, had she not been shot running AWAY from the danger the police officer represented. The help she never should have needed, had she been aided instead of covered up by an irresponsible police officer who has been irresponsible in the past, yet still on the job with a gun she can’t seem to keep up with or use properly. Oh, and just to make things more confusing, an off-duty officer made the decision to get in on the shooting as well”

It is clear to me that many officers believe they have a free pass to kill when it comes to pit bulls. These morally bankrupt cops repeatedly used the tired defense that the dog was “vicious” or “aggressive” when in countless cases the witnesses have reported otherwise and the shootings unjustified.
